R744 is a refrigerant grade CO2, used in ultra-low, low and medium temperature refrigeration applications. As a natural refrigerant, CO2 is becoming increasingly popular due to its excellent properties, an Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) of 0 and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1. Other grades of CO2 can contain a higher moisture content that could cause formation of Carbonic Acid resulting in system corrosion. Choose BOC refrigerant-grade CO2 for ultra-low moisture content and protect your refrigeration system. Government levies and surcharges may apply R744 is supplied with liquid withdrawal. Liquid CO2 provides the charge required for system operation, while Vapour CO2 cylinders can be used for initial pressurisation of systems (for vapour see 131F).
